As a fan of dark nights, I must point out that it is when the night is darkest that meteor showers look the most fantastic.
Sometime you need to lie back, enjoy, and make a thousand wishes when the stars keep falling. :-) By daybreak, you can go about making them come true - oh, and other boring stuff.
P.S. I've experienced this. It's absolutely heaven. Next time there's a shower of bright Leonids on a moonless night, I fully intend on bringing you here where we could lie on a beach under the falling stars. Then perhaps you'll see where to find hope during the darkest hours! :D
